“With the way I work, the art ultimately creates itself.”

Every work of mine has its own identity, its own humour. As a media artist, I don’t let the medium of a work dictate itself immediately; I leave the medium open at first, and see how the work assembles. With the way I work, the art ultimately creates itself. I tend to gravitate towards video, photo and interactive media works with sound, with an emphasis on moving images, video and animation, some of which are even loop-capable. The continuous loop allows visitors to determine the viewing time themselves: The dramaturgy and tension of the work must always withstand repetition. However,  I work with all the media at my disposal. Anything goes: any software, any hardware, whatever is available.

I am working on visualising contemporary themes and openly presenting all communication. I believe that the medium of a work is important if it is justified in terms of content. What I end up settling on is always quite intrinsic, a kind of contemplation of the idea itself. I often have a lot of fun with that. The idea of the work must be well-conveyed to the audience, only then does this idea become the identity of the work.
